Berger
Singerman is a Florida based business law firm. From the firm’s offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and in the state capital of Tallahassee, Berger Singerman serves a diverse client base with respect to matters involving Florida issues. The Firm’s attorneys are widely recognized as among the best in their field by independent third party sources, and many have held prestigious positions in industry, in the legal community and in public service. The Firm distinguishes itself not by its size, but by its passion for client service. The Firm appreciates that clients have numerous alternatives when it comes to legal services and that we have to earn our clients’ business and referrals each and every day.
Our
attorney team members are organized into four practice teams: the
Government and Regulatory team, the Business
Reorganization team, the Dispute
Resolution team, and the Transaction
team.
Berger
Singerman is a great and safe choice for business clients in need
of counsel in Florida. Since our firm's founding in 1985, we have
had meaningful involvement on behalf of our clients in many of the
largest transactions and litigations in Florida.
As
our clients have grown, so has our firm and the breadth of our practice.
We now regularly assist our clients in executing their business
goals in Florida and throughout the United States and beyond.
We
are immensely proud of the reputations and qualifications of our
lawyers and our firm. Our colleagues include:
- Three
of our Dispute Resolution attorneys clerked for Justices of the
Supreme Court of Florida
- Two
of our Business Reorganization attorneys clerked for a former
Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern
District of Florida
- One
of our Business Reorganization attorneys is a former Chief Bankruptcy
Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan, and in such capacity
presided over the bankruptcy case of Dow Corning, one of the largest
bankruptcy cases in the country
- One
of our Government and Regulatory attorneys served for 5 years as the
Executive Director of the South Florida Water Management District
- Another
of our Government and Regulatory attorneys served for 7 years as the
General Counsel and 2 years as Deputy Secretary to the Florida
Department of Environmental Protection (formerly called the Florida
Department of Environmental Regulation)
- One
of our attorneys served as the Chair of the Criminal Law Section
of The Florida Bar, has served as an Adjunct Professor in Trial
Practice and Corporate Governance, and served for twelve years
in the Florida Attorney General's Office as the Statewide Prosecutor,
a constitutional officer
- Two
of our attorneys are former Chairs of the Business Law Section
of The Florida Bar (elected to that position by the approximately
4,000 members of the Business Law Section)
- One
of our attorneys was a presidential appointee to the Board of
Directors of Sallie Mae, and served as Chairman of the Board of
Sallie Mae for 3 years, during which time the company had annual
revenues in excess of $ 3 Billion
