Thirteen Attorneys Named to Florida Trend's 2010 Florida Legal Elite List
Thirteen lawyers from the Florida business law firm Berger Singerman were listed in the 2010 edition Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite list, published in its July 2010 issue. This list is compiled from a statewide poll of practicing attorneys in Florida, through which the magazine sought to identify the most highly regarded attorneys among their peers.
The Florida Legal Elite list represents the top 2 percent of lawyers practicing in Florida. The selection process began with notifying and inviting members of The Florida Bar to participate in balloting by providing the names of Florida lawyers they hold in highest regard. Each lawyer was given a score based on the number of votes he or she received and whether the votes came from within their firm (one point) or outside their firm (three points). Only lawyers who are currently licensed and practicing in Florida were considered eligible. Attorneys were also invited to submit names of lawyers for recognition in a separate Government Attorney category.
The list of top vote-getters was further examined using membership status and practice histories provided by The Florida Bar. A panel of previous Legal Elite winners, representing a variety of practice areas in cities across the state, reviewed the selection process and the list of finalists.
