Berger Singerman Expands Business, Finance & Tax Team with the Addition of Associates Michelle Artiles, Alexa Cosio, and Swathi Farina

Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce the continued growth of its Business, Finance & Tax Team with the addition of Associates Michelle Artiles, Alexa Cosio, and Swathi Farina.

Michelle Artiles focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, secured lending, and leasing. She began her career in New York and returned to Florida to continue advising clients in real estate finance and development. She earned her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Central Florida. Michelle previously practiced at Loeb & Loeb LLP.
Alexa Cosio joins from Holland & Knight LLP and has substantial experience representing private equity firms and strategic investors in M&A transactions and joint ventures. She also advises public companies on corporate governance and securities compliance matters. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and her B.S. in Psychology, cum laude, from the University of Florida.
Swathi Farina brings a strong background in corporate finance and acquisition lending, having represented institutional lenders, private equity funds, and corporate borrowers in a range of syndicated credit facilities and financing transactions. Her experience also includes M&A, general corporate matters, and SEC compliance. She holds a J.D., cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School and a B.B.A. in Finance, cum laude, from Baylor University. Swathi previously practiced at Sidley Austin LLP.
