Zachary Hyman is member of the firm’s Business Reorganization and Dispute Resolution Teams, and has a very diverse practice, having been involved in a wide variety of insolvency and litigation matters which vary from high profile divorces to complicated restructuring matters and litigation. Zach’s experience as a restructuring attorney, a commercial litigator and a family law attorney enables him to offer a unique and creative perspective with respect to various matters that he involved in, and take a versatile approach to difficult and complicated problems.

As a commercial litigator, Zach has been involved in litigation concerning the theft of trade secrets, employment agreements, disputes concerning corporate governance, internal investigations of alleged corporate misconduct, and the enforcement of liens and other related rights, and am intimately familiar with the processes and procedures governing electronic discovery. This experience gives Zach the ability to help identify issues in complicated transactional documents, develop a litigation strategy in connection with complicated commercial litigation, efficiently review manage and develop procedures concerning the use of electronically stored information, and find a comprehensive solution to problems which may seem impossible to solve. Because of this experience, Zach was appointed as the chair of the Litigation Committee of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar where he led a group of lawyers in identifying language in a proposed modernized revision to the Florida corporations statute which could cause uncertainty and lead to unnecessary litigation, and is involved in the drafting of a statute governing the appointment of receivers over commercial real property in Florida, and revising the Florida non-compete and service of process statutes.

As a restructuring attorney Zach has learned to identify the intersection of business and legal issues to advise clients as to how to achieve the best results in difficult situations. Zach’s work in the restructuring field has also given me a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of complex transactions and distressed deals. Through these skills Zach restructured the Florida Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, which resulted in my receipt of the emerging leader award in 2018, and as a result, was appointed to chair the Turnaround Management Association’s global nextGen committee, where he is responsible for developing programming for thousands of young professionals in the restructuring field worldwide.

As a family law attorney, Zach advises clients as to how to act in emotionally charged and highly adversarial circumstances, because through his work in family law, Zach has gained significant experience in trial and evidentiary hearings.

Prior to joining Berger Singerman, Zach served as a law clerk for the Honorable Donald M. Middlebrooks, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of Florida.
