Jonathan A. Ocampo is a member of the firm’s Construction Team within the Dispute Resolution Group. He is Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar and focuses his practice on construction law and complex construction-related disputes, representing owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and suppliers throughout all phases of private construction projects.
Jonathan advises clients from pre-construction planning and contract negotiation through litigation, arbitration, and mediation. His experience includes construction defect claims, delay and schedule disputes, payment and lien foreclosure actions, bond and surety claims, and other contract-related controversies. He has served as first-chair trial counsel in lien foreclosure matters and has represented clients in multi-million-dollar arbitration proceedings.
With a practical and business-focused approach, Jonathan works closely with clients to mitigate risk, resolve disputes efficiently, and protect their interests in Florida’s construction industry.

- Served as first chair attorney representing a general contractor, through trial, in a lien foreclosure action against the developer for non-payment; defended against developer’s claims for fraudulent lien and liquidated damages; and successfully obtained a favorable verdict in excess of $1.2M.
- Served as outside corporate counsel to the general contractor constructing a $2M aviation fuel farm project at the Opa-locka Executive Airport, Miami, Florida, including contract negotiation, project management, change order issues and subcontractor payment disputes.
- Negotiated and drafted AIA standard form agreements on behalf of a general contractor responsible for the buildout of various restaurants located in Coral Gables, Wynwood, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
- Lead attorney representing site-work subcontractor in multi-million dollar arbitration with the American Arbitration Association involving lien foreclosure, improper termination for cause, and performance bond claim. Negotiated a favorable settlement prior to final hearing.
