Stephanie M. Chaissan is a member of the firm's Dispute Resolution Team and co-leader of the Construction Law practice team. Her practice focuses on construction and complex commercial litigation in both state and federal court.
Stephanie’s experience includes commercial and business litigation, including claims arising out of shareholder disputes, business torts, officer and director liability, breaches of contract, breaches of warranty, construction defects, statutory violations, breaches of fiduciary duty, corporate governance, fraud, real estate, landlord and tenant disputes, and civil appeals. She also has experience representing owners, including condominium and homeowners’ associations, and real estate developers and other construction entities in a wide range of matters, including contractual disputes, statutory violations, and construction defects.

- Represent Foundation Risk Partners Corp. and its affiliates in breach of contract and fiduciary duty, non-compete and trade secret litigation with Brown & Brown, Inc.
- Represent Chapter 7 Trustee in multi-million-dollar bankruptcy adversary proceeding against a division of a Fortune 100 company for recovery of fraudulent transfers.
- Represent owner of commercial construction project in pursuing damages estimated at more than $30 million for construction defects and delay from general contractor.
- Represent North Florida gasoline distributor in a multimillion-dollar franchise dispute with its supplier.
- Represent manufacturer of sportswear and lounge wear in dispute with a former employee.
- Obtained summary judgment in favor of historic condominium-hotel association and four members of its board of directors in multi-million dollar commercial litigation action brought by owners of over forty units for breach of fiduciary duty, statutory and contractual violations, and civil conspiracy arising out of allegedly unauthorized construction and special assessments.
- Drafted appellate answer brief resulting in per curium affirmation in favor of nationwide lender on a quiet title dispute.
- Drafted initial and reply appellate briefs on behalf of condominium association and board members resulting in reversal and remand of trial court’s final judgment as to liability in case involving attempted sale of condominium building.
- Represented property owner and management company in putative class action by former tenants alleging violation of the Landlord-Tenant Act and breach of contract and obtained mediated settlement significantly limiting clients’ exposure.
- Represented home health nursing provider in multiple actions for breach of contract and nonpayment by patients and obtained judgments in favor of client.
